The Gym Group Manchester Portland Street is on the second floor of Bank Chambers on Faulkner Street, in the middle of the city centre close to Chinatown and Piccadilly Gardens. It is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. This is one of the better equipped city-centre sites for lifting, with eight plate-loaded stations, 12 Olympic rigs and squat racks, dumbbells from 2kg to 50kg, 25 adjustable benches, two Smith press stations and 15 resistance machines. The cardio floor holds more than 50 machines, including 19 bikes, 19 treadmills, six cross trainers, five Concept II rowers and two climbmills. There is a HIIT zone and a glutes area with a Booty Builder V8 and hip thrust bench. Free Wi-Fi, lockers and showers are provided, classes are included in membership and personal trainers work on site. There is no parking or bike storage at this location, so plan to arrive on foot or by public transport.
