The Gym Group London Charing Cross
The Gym Group London Charing Cross is on Northumberland Avenue, moments from Charing Cross and Embankment stations and Trafalgar Square. It is not a 24-hour site: it opens 6am to 10pm Monday to Friday and 10am to 5pm at weekends, so check the hours if you train early on a Saturday. The cardio floor holds more than 55 machines, including 22 bikes, 22 treadmills, seven cross trainers, six Concept II rowers and two climbmills. Strength kit covers six plate-loaded stations, four Olympic rigs and squat racks, dumbbells from 2kg to 50kg, 15 adjustable benches and two Smith press stations, with ten or more resistance machines and five cable stations. There is a HIIT zone and a glute drive. Free Wi-Fi, lockers and showers are provided and classes are included in membership.

Training for HYROX here
- This gym has the equipment for 8 of 8 HYROX stations, counting kit that stands in for the real thing. 3 of those are the station's own equipment.
- 1. SkiErg 1000m
-
2. Sled Push
4 x 12.5m
Not listed here, but this gym has kit that stands in. A heavy leg press builds the same drive, though it will not teach the body position.
-
3. Sled Pull
4 x 12.5m
Not listed here, but this gym has kit that stands in. A heavy rope pull on a cable stack is the nearest thing most gyms have.
-
4. Burpee Broad Jumps
80m
No equipment needed, so any gym with floor space can train it.
- 5. Row 1000m
- 6. Kettlebell Farmers Carry 200m
-
7. Sandbag Lunges
100m
Not listed here, but this gym has kit that stands in. A barbell across the back, or dumbbells at the sides, loads the same lunge.
-
8. Wall Balls
100 reps
Not listed here, but this gym has kit that stands in. A medicine ball against a solid wall, or dumbbell thrusters where no wall will take it.
- What HYROX is, and how to train for it
- Based on the equipment listed for this gym, compared against the published race stations. It is not a statement that this gym is a HYROX affiliate or runs HYROX classes. HYROX is a trademark of its owner and GymDirectory is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by HYROX. Equipment lists here are often incomplete, so check with the gym before you rely on it.
